As RPAS systems integrate more and more into traditional aviation, the use of aviation VHF radios can increase situational awareness, and simplify tactical communications.

Note: Use of a radio in controlled airspace is not mandatory for RPAS, but may be requested as part of a NavCanada authorization.  Use of aviation radios in uncontrolled airspace is encouraged.
